I have not liked those felt air pots. I think they wick moisture and it's hard to get the plant out if you want to repot.

    I use these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

The rootball is amazing with these pots. They really do not wear out either. Even better is that tractor supply has a nice 3 gallon pan that fits perfectly under the air pot for indoor use. For outdoor use, these are great for when you have to hold a plant over. Set it directly on the ground and the plant will tolerate and even thrive if lots of rain OR drought.

That was hardly a fair comparison, and about the worst way I've ever seen to get a plant out of a fabric pot.

It was funny that she had to mention that she'd made the same mess before, lol!

After seeing her method for unpotting, I'd hardly trust her judgement about those 2 plants being the same. If they are the same strain, they sure look like different phenos.

    Her "airpots" are actually Rootmakers.

    These are Air Pots.

There are lots of fabric pots, too. Some are better than others.

I use both kinds of "air pots." They both work the same for me, but I can get the Rootmakers locally, and for a reasonable price.

I use fabric bags, too. They all wick, it's part of their deal. If you don't want them to wick, don't let them stand in water. But, the wicking is excellent for bottom feeding.

I prefer these because they're made of recycled bottles, heavy, and last.

It is hard to get a rootball out if you do like that video.

I've found a couple of ways that work, and I'm sure there"s more.

I let the bag fill with roots. It won't get rootbound, and the roots will hold the medium together all the way out to the edge.

#1 way...The medium should be moist, not wet... and not bone dry.

Use a knife that's long enough to reach the bottom of the bag without having to jamb your hand in there.

Sit the bag on something like a can with a lesser diameter than the bag.

Gently tug at the bag's bottom til it starts slipping down over the can... then pull harder while holding the main stalk. I would not lay the pot on it's side and beat it!

#2...If the bag is really full of roots, I let it dry out till it's just about to wilt stage. This makes the medium shrink enough to do the above even more easily.

I use #1 for coco (I don't want that to ever dry out), and #2 for mud.

I get the same results from either fabric or plastic.

    Just my experience, mind you.

I look forward to buying several air-pots.

A lot easier to maintain, and clean sterile, between being used as well...
All things being equal, they seem to have a slight edge.
