    plant not turning

    0 Not allowed!
Hello. Long time lurker, first time posting.

I have a GG4 plant I've been growing outdoors in northern CA. I've been taking the branches one at a time as I see amber trichomes.

I harvested a couple of branches that had started turning amber in the first week of September. I harvested a couple more the beginning of the third week in September. I harvested another a week ago.

The rest of the plant I'm still not seeing any amber trichomes. Is this normal? Seems like a long time for the rest of the plant to turn.

    * I flushed with water the first week of September. Have given little water since then as I thought they'd be ready.

    THANKS!

Not sure of your soil but if its coco and clear of nutrients then your plant only has roots and the rest of the plant to live off of. You could try a light nutrient solution to get things moving. I've heard rumors people have smoked pot that wasn't flushed out for weeks
You stick a bunch of females together and don't want any problems? Good luck. They are going to mess you up.

    That could be it.
They haven't been fed in a long time.
    Will try that.

    Thanks!

You actually want to harvest while the trichomes are still cloudy, before they turn amber.

    Sure agree with everyone above.

Few things I picked up in your question. You say you haven't watered in close to a month?

Since you are outdoors is there ANY ambient light from a portch light or street light; Even a stray light from window or glass door?

Ambient light is where I think it is. You can feed that plant nothing and it will grow and finish out just fine.

These plants are total photo period sensitive!! Meaning short fall days of 12 and less hours of light and solid 7 hours of darkness(total blackout) anything other than that will cause slow to finish. Also dieing plants from. Lack of water will extend.

GG4 is a very radical hybrid. To much stress and it's going to grow balls... It could get balls anyway it's from a hermaphrodite mom.

If the plant is lacking water during flower the flowers will not develope properly and end up with wispy bud.

    Photos sure help.

    Muk

PS flower time o. GG4 is 8-9 weeks.

    Hey Doc,
I intentionally harvest with cloudy trikes.

I'm not looking to become horizontal guru. I want feel good and creative and that's what cloudy gets you.

I guess a small amount would be easier.

After Amber comes decay. Like an over ripe peach. Part will be on the verge of falling apart while part will be perfect.

Another way is watch the hairs and the Calix. When the Calix looks like it's going to pop it's done as it's gonna get.

If it had been polinated a seed would be inside.

Red hair and fat Calix it's done.

I could tell you an interesting story, but I think I’d better hold off on that one. It’s worth the wait. Wide grin

Ah, anyways, yes, it is a marvelous publication. The book, that holds all the keys to unlock the mysterious doors to ultimate cannabis knowledge.

I have several of our gracious hosts books, & they have all been complete and honest info.

I guess that’s one of the main reasons, that reading any negative guff about Jorge, rather pisses me off. He had given his all, to this cause, which deserves nothing but accolades and to be rewarded handsomely. I Hope his book sales are through the roof.
