    Making infused coconut oil

    0 Not allowed!
This thread is going to show how i make infused coconut oil. For the big jug of coconut oil i am going to use about 2 - 2.5 oz of bud/trim.15256380719682061971321.jpgnow chop it up. Coffee grinders work but they pulverize your bud if not careful. So i chop by hand. After that we will decarb.

This is the big jug of coconut oil i am referring to. Along with cheese cloth. Luckily you can find both at your local neighborhood grocer. 15256396705391948754668.jpgnow start preheating your oven to 240°f. We will decarb our cannabis for 1 hr at 240°f. Cook kief at 240°f for 30 mins. You will also want a funnel or calender to lay the cheese cloth in so we can drain our plant material in.

This is what the 2 oz of bud reduces to after chopping by hand. 15256405047121189561319.jpg once complete place in to a pyrex dish and cover with tin foil to cook at 240°f for 60 minutes. 15256409298981328705184.jpg

This point is a great time to set up the oil in the crock pot to get it melted.

Place all of the oil in to the crock pot and set on high to melt it down. Newer ones have WAY better temperature control. I bought this one at the St. Vinnie's good will for $5. Cant beat that.1525642159130966153421.jpg

Remove cannabis from oven after 60 mins and allow to cool off before uncovering. 152564533560025946510.jpgonce cooled off pour contents in to the crock pot with the oil. Mix in15256459670181333157005.jpg

I have researched that soy lecithin added to your oil is an enhancer allowing it to be more readily absorbed in to body. I really dont quite have a grasp on the science behind this fact, but i do agree it makes my oil stonier. the ratio is 1 Tbsp : 1 cup of oil (carrier)1525646628868973677644.jpglet me find a link explaining the benefits of adding soy lecithin to your edibles.

    P.S.
The big container of coconut oil has ~7+ cups of oil in it. So i use 7 Tbsp of soy lecithin. This ratio allows for all lecithin to dissolve.

ALL THIS METHOD CAN BE FOUND ON

Once in the crock pot with the soy lecithin, allow to cook or simmer for 6 to 10 hrs. Try not to allow your oil to reach much higher than 155°f. I have executed every conceivable accident while making infused oil. one of them being allowing the crock pot to burn my oil. It turned a brown color and gave me a horrible high with a headache that was not pleasant. I have to switch my crock pot on and off to make sure i don't over cook it. Be sure to stir the mixture about every 1/2 hour.

Once completed cooking i use a funnel and cheese cloth to drain my plant material, as well as pouring the oil back in152566551195049709126.jpg15256655824951100488706.jpgthen if possible use some clips to attach the cheese cloth to the funnel15256656711161220419432.jpg
