    Harvesting pollen from a male

    0 Not allowed!
    This is going to be a short thread on harvesting pollen. I was unaware of how easy it is and how simple it is to make my own seeds. I first had a germ'd seed that i left in its solo cup for 2+ months. And left outside. Abuse wasn't intended.

    This is our male subject. 15252396202691929932994.jpg

    We probably wont get much from him. I am just making a few seeds and not trying to start a revolution. Tomorrow we will chop it off and place it in a shot glass of water under some light. The anthers will continue to open up like a flower does and will still drop its pollen. It will be sitting on a piece of glass and we will scrape up the pollen with clean razor blades and place in a small receptacle to keep from pollinating everything1525239985132388363486.jpg

    Here's the set up15253161043261507331697.jpgand we caught the male just as he is opening up his first anther. 15253162194811691354382.jpgwe are going to chop it off and a couple of leaves to allow it to sit in a shot glass of water. 1525316481257253431610.jpgand there ya go. Now we wait for the anthers to open up and gives us some pollen. It is important that this is being done in a draft free place as this pollen can really get airborne. And be sure to give the glass a good cleaning before doing this.

    Thinking I read some place the male pollen normally lives from 1-2 hours and up to a day. Depends on humidity since water kills it. Keep pollen dry and stick in freezer you can extend its life.
    You stick a bunch of females together and don't want any problems? Good luck. They are going to mess you up.

    @Tropical
    Yes i have read there is a "shelf life" on this pollen. And yes water completely kills it. I have used the pollen within 7 days of harvest and have had no real issue.

    Any ideas on how feminized seeds are made. I read somewhere that they spray some kind of hormone spray on a female plants single branches, and that makes it herm out. And then use the herm to pollinate other females.Think thats what they were sayin its

    Something like that. Just be aware some enzymes in that category and enzymes in general can be a cancer agent. The reason for sex change is altered local genetics and the reason for cancer is pretty much the same reaction which enzymes can do.

    They use a "silver colloidal fluid" made from a 9 volt, some wires, distilled water, silver object and a little time. The bare wires placed in the water allows the current to strip molecules from the silver object and deposits it in the water. The water is retrieved and sprayed on the bud.

    *IT IS VERY BAD TO SMOKE THE TREATED BUD*

    Even accidental over spray could pose a problem.

    Thats why i only make "regular" seeds. No issues ever. Except sifting through some males. People are petrified of the male plant. They are normal and they dont ruin everything. There is a purpose for them and this is it. You see how far along the male plant can be without dropping pollen. Just keep an eye on its most mature anther/pollen sac and act accordingly.
