    @Tropical it sounds like cleaning air stones is a real pain. I haven't looked into those yet. Are air stones real pricey? Not a girl? It looks like I really am the only female in this boat @!#$&*&^%, go figure! I'm not sure I want to be outside hosing out air stones and air lines right now, we are into our second snow fall and a good wind along with it. By Tuesday it'll all be better.
    I'm moving slow on knowing which way to go on Aero or just go back to soil. I'm digging up loads of info on the aero part and nothing about aero is gonna be cheap even if I do most of it as a DIY project.

    Instead of using air stones, try an air curtain.

    The air bubbles are spread out, the full length of the curtain.

    Good thought on adding fish and managing their waste as plant nutrients, Although proper setup do required to make it work...
