The Last Few Weeks Have Been Busy!

I was in CA, USA for a few days after returning from an extended stay in Barcelona, Spain, almost long enough to beat jet lag . . . then opportunities started presenting themselves. It started with the High Times Medical Cannabis Cup, http://sfmedcancup.eventbrite.com/. It was good to see the guys from High Times. Danny Danko met me at the front door. I also got to catch up with author/photographer, Mel Frank. Also an old friend from Spain, the owner of www.aqualabtechnologies.com, and a few other old friends. It was good to see them. I felt very comfortable with my old friends.
Fred Gardner, www.projectcbd.com, informed me in an early Sunday morning phone call that President Vicente Fox, Mexican president 2000-2006, would be in San Francisco 10 July 2013 for a press conference with Jamen Shively, the ex-Microsoft executive who is planning a chain of cannabis outlets in Washington State.
I made the press conference at the Sir Francis Drake hotel near Union Square in San Francisco . . . great time! Here are the details http://www.marijuanagrowing.com/show...te-Fox-Quesada.
The following week I went to Santa Cruz county to meet several medical cannabis growers and work with Justin, an outstanding professional photographer. We shot the cover for my new book. I was also able to catch up with few of the new cultivation developments in America. I do regret not having time to visit Valerie Corral from Wo/Men’s Alliance for Medical Marijuana (WAMM), https://wamm.org/. I also missed seeing my old friend Rene Shepherd, owner of Rene´s Garden Seeds, http://www.reneesgarden.com/. They sell flower and vegetable seeds.
The days are not long enough and I get tired too!
A few days later I was fortunate enough to spend an entire day with Todd McCormick, one of my heroes. This was the first time we were able to hang out together and really get to know one another. Here are a few details, http://www.marijuanagrowing.com/show...Todd-McCormick!!!
The following week old friends started arriving to attend the Maximum Yield fair in San Francisco, http://www.maximumyield.com/. The fair was wonderful. Many of my European, Japanese, Russian and Australian friends and associates were there. It was almost as good as being back in Spain! I decided to not publish a photograph of us all together because I do not have permission from everybody.
Yesterday, Sunday, the day after the Maximum Yield fair was wonderful. I was able to hang out with my good friend, who also happens to be the technical editor for my new book, all day. We made an agreement to stop talking shop at two in the afternoon. The rest of the day was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable I have spent for a very long time.
In between all of these events I found enough time to work on my new book hours on end. Upload a couple of videos to my youtube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/jorgecervantesmj. Oh yes, the 78 videos on the youtube channel have nearly 5,000,000 views and more than 38,000 subscribers!
I have also done my best to post daily on our forum. Most often I have enough time to welcome new members and answer a few questions. But today, Monday, 29 July 2013 was different. My good friend Toni13 from Valencia, Spain, and a medical patient with fibromyalgia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibromyalgia, started a new medical forum in Spanish, http://www.marijuanagrowing.com/foru...Medicina-Forum. If you do not understand Spanish, please cut and paste text into this program, http://translate.google.com/. It will translate into many languages. Oh yes, Toni13 is an expert gardener and photographer. In fact he commands several pages in my new book that will be available in the spring of 2014, http://www.marijuanagrowing.com/foru...-Updates-Forum.
The forum is just 11 months old. It is going well with an average of 500-700 people on line and a record of more than 1,000 online at one time. There are more than 3,000 members, 2, 300 threads and more than 26, 000 posts.
I still miss my friends and life in Spain. And at the same time I truly appreciate the luxury of living in California too. It affords me so many more opportunities. I can also meet so many more of you. I will be at the Seattle Hempfest in August, http://www.marijuanagrowing.com/show...3-August-16-18. Maybe I will have the honor of meeting you!
