New Marijuana Horticulture (the bible) Rewrite Needs Your Input!

Rate this Entry
The 5th edition of Marijuana Horticulture The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible rolled off the press in 2006, 7 years ago. So much has changed since then - technology, laws, genetics, etc.!

I have been working on the update of "the bible" for more than 5 years. Finally, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. You can see the new updated Table of contents at http://www.marijuanagrowing.com/show...-Sixth-Edition.

Much of the text is finished and many of the fotos and images are in place. But, with such a large book (it is twice as big as the last one) there are a multitude of details to complete.

The absolute best professional editors available have been editing chapters. But there are three editors that I have had a hard the time finding. I have been looking for a professional lighting engineer, a security expert, and a cannabis cooking expert. But to date have yet to find them. I also need two more "Case Studies" one for a Sealed Indoor Garden Room and the other for a Small Indoor Garden Room.

The solution for the editors for the "Light, Lamps and Electricity," "Preserving the Sanctuary" and "Cooking with Medical Cannabis" chapters is to post the chapters on the site at this forum, http://www.marijuanagrowing.com/foru...-Updates-Forum, and ask all of you to edit these chapters. Please add to and discuss the chapters as they are posted.

The solution to find the two Case Studies could also be left to members. My idea is to have members vote on the different Grow Journals and let you choose the best ones that fit the parameters and include them in the new updated book. Of course the threads would have to be condensed and rewritten. The fotos would also have to be high resolution.

Please tell me what you think of these ideas.

I will start posting pieces of the three chapters today. The chapters are so big that they will require multiple posts in the "New Marijuana Horticulture Bible Updates Forum." It also works best to post the chapters in small pieces so that they can be broken down into different subjects and sections that can be discussed separately.

Of course any members that contribute to the published book will get their screen name in the "Credits" section of the printed and electronic editions of the book. And, I discussed it briefly with the Admin, but have come to no conclusion yet, could also have a special icon or similar recognition in the forum next to your screen name as recognition for your help with this important project.

    Hi Jorge.

I just joined and would like to help in any way I can.Great ideas. I would like to be considered for the 'Case study' which would be a very exciting topic to work on.I am doing a Sealed Indoor Garden Room or a Small Indoor Garden Room but I am unsure if its what you are looking for. I started the current set up in November and have been fine tuning it since so I have started a journal which I will be updating regularly with up to date pictures and details etc.

    Gotta roll with it!

    Hey Buddy,

Please start a thread in the Grow Journals Forum and make sure to upload fotos and document your garden well. Beyond that, the matter is out of my hands as far as being chosen for one of the Case Studies in Marijuana Horticulture update (6th) Edition. It will be up to the members and their voting.

Thanks so much for your passion and interest in helping others grow the best cannabis possible.

    jdwall,

Good point on the deadline. If the grow is finished in the next three months, April 15 2013, it will definitely be within deadline.

This book is much more work than I had originally planned. I started out to write a basic update, but it blossomed into a huge project, like I said above, the updated book is more than twice as big as the original! I thought I would have the text and fotos finished by the end of February 2013, but I know now that is unrealistic.

Please add your fotos and case study to the forum. Remember I am also looking for fotos too. So far I have chosen about 1500 images, but if I find images on the forum them.

One of the criteria for fotos is to include cannabis in each one of them. This is a cannabis book and I want to continue with the theme throughout the book.

Please take a look at the Marijuana Horticulture and Marijuana Grow Basics for examples of top quality fotos.

Please do not hesitate to ask more questions about the upcoming book so they can be clarified here.

    Hi Jorge

I dont know if you are still looking for people to edit the lighting section, but I would be delighted and honored to help. I would also be interested in writing the section on led lighting. I have been working on led lights for 5 years and selling them for 3. I custom design and build each light by hand, I DONT import Chinese lights! I have pretty good knowledge of all aspects of led tech and lighting design. I also have a background in technical writing. I also have excellent general electronics knowledge and can advise on how to evaluate lights given the somewhat confusing (and dishonest!) ways led lights are rated.
Sorry I couldnt make it to Spannabis this year and hopefully talk to you, but I will be at Growmed, will you be there? As I live in Valencia its more convenient than Barcelona!

hey Jorge the only thing i would add to your book cuz it was the only thing i had to look up was that when cloning to let it dry out a little bit so the roots look for water. cuz I was constantly watering until i found out and then they just took off. but other then that I owe everything I know from your books and videos, I look forward for more everyday. Thank you
