Legend Seeds manages several gardens in the Vancouver, BC area. We were fortunate enough to visit one of their mother rooms that was set up about a year before. I was most impressed with the way they set up the room in three short days and began to produce finished clones less than three weeks after getting the keys to the front door. They are serious growers!

They used reflective white Styrofoam insulation and expanding foam calking which diminished grow room noise in the first story grow room. Large parabolic dome reflectors housing 1000w vertical metal halide lamps illuminated most of the garden. A couple of bare HIDs and several 125w CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamps) hung in between acted to even out the light. I believe they could have used fewer watts and more efficient reflectors to achieve the same goal.

The air chiller was one of the most interesting appliances they used. The chiller uses a constant supply of cold water and a little refrigeration to create cold air. It is much less expensive to use than an air conditioner.

The exhaust ducting was wrapped with sleeping bags to dampen noise. A bit odd to look at but very effective!

Light from hoodless metal halides and CFL lamps illuminate about half of this mother room from Legends Seeds. The red and silver cans evaporate sulfur into the air a few minutes every night to keep fungus in check.

An air chiller, a silver metal box with blue lettering, keeps the room cool. The in line fan boosts air along the 6-inch duct. All appliances that vibrate are hung from elastic-like cords.

Electrical switches and outlets located in a separate room are labeled, color coded and easy to troubleshoot.

A zipper is attached to the Visqueen wall to form a convenient door to the grow room.

Labeled flats of clones are grown on shelves under banks of fluorescent light with a spectrum similar to natural daylight.
