4. Chicago!

These grow rooms are outstanding! I loved the way this cannabis refugee from Chicago sectioned off four feet of one end of his bedroom to make a grow room that housed two parabolic domes with two 1000w lamps. This is the third time this innovative grower used the same inexpensive construction materials to build similar grow grooms!

Vegetative plants, mothers, and clones grow in the smaller bedroom in his apartment. He is able to grow more plants in the vegetative room than he can flower in the flowering room. This opportunity has given way to a dozen outdoor patches, but that is another story!

Mr. Chicago vents directly out the only window in the grow room. He leaves the Venetian mini blinds closed and in place. Then he covers the inside of the window with Visqueen plastic that is white on the inside and black against the window. Ducting attached to the extraction fan exhausts hot grow room air out behind the blinds. The blinds disperse the air before it is expelled out the window. We went outdoors to see how the covered window looks from the street. We could not tell the difference between his window and the neighbors. But, we do not know if the neighbor is growing too!

Angle iron, hinges, 1 x 2 boards, black/white Visqueen plastic, staples, and tape are the basic construction supplies in this 4 x 12-foot grow room.

The exhaust duct streams out the grow room wall and out the closed off window at the end of the room.

The intake fan blows air into an open space in the end of the garden. The empty space allows fresh air to enter rapidly and not blow directly on plants.

The vent fan in the back escorts old stale air out the window. Note how the Visqueen is window to the window and the ducting feeds directly into the window.

An oscillating circulation fan is essential to keep hot and cold air well mixed. Moving air is also more readily available for plants.

These cuttings in rockwool cubes will be transplanted into three-gallon containers and grown under 18 hours of light. They will be well rooted and 12-18 inches tall when induced to flower.

Inside the 4-foot-wide room is the crop of flowering females under two 1000w super metal halides. The lamps are oriented vertically in parabolic dome reflectors. Each lamp illuminates about 4 square feet.
