Please send us the original image in jpeg format. You can also send uncompressed Tiff files. I shoot exclusively jpeg format photos. Do not resize photos before sending.
MH HID lights cast blue color and HP sodiums an orange color. If you can color correct your camera correct it to the Kelvin temperature of the lights 6000, 3000, 2100 degrees etc. If you cannot color correct photos, using exclusively metal halide light distorts the light the least. Or you can light the room with tungsten halogen or incandescent lights. A flash also helps keep photos un-shadowed and well lit.
- Original Photos that have not been published in print or on the Internet will get priority.
- Strain Photos of your strains are needed. Include as much information about their background as possible. Also tell us how it was grown.
- Garden Photos of plants growing in different conditions and setups both indoors and outdoors. The best time to shoot photos of ripe buds is a few days before harvest.
- Grow Room Set-up Photos are very important. Shoot the construction, and introduction of plants all the way through harvest. Chronological photos tell a wonderful story.
- Cronological Photos of the garden. Take photos of your garden every few days from the day you start seeds or take clones until the day you fire up the first joint. Such chronologies really show how to grow.
- Macro Botanical Photos are very cool! Close ups of resin glands, buds, insects, etc.
- Odd Photos of strange leafs, branching, or other oddities are definitely interesting.
- Sick Plant Photos including close ups of the insect, mite or disease nutrient orders that caused the problem are in high demand. Take photos of plants that have recovered from the ailment too.
- Dry Bud Photos are difficult to shoot. Make sure to have balanced lighting when shooting buds.
